With just two computers and a USB drive, experience eLinehub’s software-only remote diagnostics solution in a few easy steps
Quick Demo Overview
If you don’t have a VCI device or vehicle available, you can still experience the full functionality of eLinehub. All you need is one Mechanic computer, one Technician computer, and a standard USB drive.
In this demo, you will:
Use a USB drive to simulate a VCI device.
Remotely access and operate the USB drive from the Technician computer.
Simulate a real remote diagnostics session.
What You Need
To get started, you will need the following:
Two Windows computers:
- Computer A (Mechanic): eLinehub Mechanic software installed.
- Computer B (Technician): eLinehub Technician software installed.
A standard USB drive to simulate the VCI device.
One eLinehub account.
Quick Demo Steps
Step 1: Publish Order and Share USB Drive
Insert the USB drive into Computer A (Mechanic) and ensure it is recognized by the system.
Open the eLinehub Mechanic software and log in.
Create and publish a new order.
In the order’s Live Chat, leave a message such as “Test order, please do not accept” to prevent other Technicians from taking the order.
When prompted to share a device, click “Yes” to share the USB drive.
The order will automatically appear in the Order Market on the Technician side.
Step 2: Accept Order and Establish Remote Connection
On Computer B (Technician), open the eLinehub Technician software and log in.
Go to the Order Market, locate the test order, and click “Grab Order.”
When prompted to confirm the payment method, select the default Offline Payment option and click “Confirm Payment.”
In the Remote Connection Status Area:
Select the corresponding order.
Select the shared USB drive from the Mechanic computer.
Click the “Connect” button to establish the remote connection.
Tip: After successfully connecting, you can optionally view network connection details in the status area.

Step 3: Access and Operate the USB Drive Remotely
On the Technician computer, open “This PC” or “My Computer.”
A new USB drive will appear, mapped from the Mechanic computer, just like the USB drive is physically plugged into the Technician computer.
Perform basic file operations (open, copy, delete) to simulate using diagnostic software with a VCI device.
Step 4: Disconnect and Complete the Order
In the eLinehub Technician software, click the “Disconnect” button to end the session.
Once disconnected, the USB drive will automatically revert to being available on the Mechanic computer.
After completing the work, the Technician clicks the “Complete Order” button, and the Mechanic clicks “Agree to Complete Order” to finalize the order.
Conclusion
In conclusion, eLinehub’s software-only remote diagnostics solution allows you to conduct a full diagnostic session without needing a physical VCI device. By following these simple steps, you can efficiently simulate a remote diagnostics session. This process not only saves time but also enhances your ability to troubleshoot effectively.
