Software-Only Remote Diagnostics for Almost Any VCI & OEM Tool

Keep your current setup. eLinehub virtualizes the VCI so a remote expert can run the OEM tools you already use—as if plugged in next to the vehicle. No extra hardware. Three Shared Devices options cover USB and Ethernet VCIs and common stacks like CAN, CAN FD, UDS, and DoIP.

Why Compatibility First

Shops and mobile techs rely on proven VCIs and OEM applications. Our job is simple: if a workflow behaves locally, it should behave the same way remotely—including remote ECU programming over Ethernet (DoIP).

Local Diagnostics

Shared Devices

Shared USB Devices: USB over IP for automotive diagnostics

A lightweight kernel driver on the shop PC tunnels raw USB requests (URBs) to the expert PC. The expert sees the VCI natively—usually without installing the VCI’s proprietary driver on the shop side. Typical VCIs: CarDAQ-Plus 3, DrewTech Mongoose, Autel VCMI (USB), BitBox USB, TEXA Navigator TXT Multihub (USB).

Privacy: Only the VCI is shared. Other USB devices stay private.

Shared Network Adapters — Standard: “Virtual network cable” for DoIP

Behaves like plugging a longer network cable between the vehicle/VCI and the expert laptop. Discovery traffic flows as expected, which makes DoIP remote diagnostics and programming straightforward.

Typical VCIs: Benz C4 (Ethernet), BMW ENET remote programming, Opus IVS RNDIS, Bosch MDI2 (Ethernet).

Shared Network Adapters — Advanced: gateway-sensitive or discovery-heavy cases

For edge cases that expect strict gateways or rely heavily on broadcast/multicast discovery. This mode strengthens Ethernet behavior so OEM tools find and talk to modules the way they expect.

What This Covers in Practice

  • Transports: CAN, CAN FD, UDS, DoIP.

  • Scenarios: software-only remote vehicle diagnostics, remote J2534 programming, coding/flashing on late-model DoIP platforms, mixed fleets with USB and Ethernet VCIs.

  • OEM ecosystems: ISTA/E-Sys (BMW ENET), Xentry (Benz DoIP), Techline/MDI2 (GM), plus common J2534 reprogramming suites.

USB and Ethernet VCIs for remote J2534 programming and DoIP workflows

Example Combinations You Can Run Today

  • USB J2534 VCI → OEM reprogramming tools → remote J2534 programming

  • BMW ENET → ISTA/E-Sys over DoIP → BMW ENET remote programming

  • Benz C4 (Ethernet) → Xentry (DoIP)

  • Bosch MDI2 (Ethernet) → Techline suite

Quick Start

Install the Mechanic app in the bay and the Technician app remotely. Choose a Shared Devices option (USB or Network Adapter—Standard/Advanced), connect your VCI, and start the session. Software-only, no shipping, minutes to first job.
